ENRICHMENT
Through clubs and societies and other cultural activities we provide opportunities for our pupils to explore their interests and develop their talents. The actual programme varies from year to year as some interests wane and new ones develop.
At present there are opportunities to take part in chess, dramatics, choirs, hiking and camping and debating.
Our Steelband has a national, if not international reputation for excellence and have been invited to participate in a Summer Arts' Festival in England in July 2008. This promises to be a fantastic opportunity.
There is a flourishing Students' Christian Association.
Graeme boys are encouraged to take up the challenge of such public showcases such as the English Olympiad, the Grahamstown Eisteddfod and the Science Expo. There are also a number of English festivals and plays to which senior boys are invited to attend.
There is an emphasis on community awareness and various groups and activities attempt to develop a that sense of responsibility and social awareness. These groups include Interact, Presidents' Award, First Aid and becoming a blood donor.
Boys are encouraged to participate in various subject based activities such as business games and mathematics competitions and science olympiads.
For selected pupils, leadership training is available in various forms such as the monitor and prefect bodies and through toastmasters.
